Cleopatra VII, the Greek Egyptian queen in (323-30 BCE) was a powerful leader who many described as intelligent and seducing, with a love for her beauty regimens. She bathed in donkey milk, and washed her face with the milk multiple times a day. Although that’s probably a bit excessive, she was onto something with the milk-
Cleo Milk Baths uses goats milk (and coconut milk) because, well, have you tried finding a herd of donkeys to milk?? Milk in general gives amazing results to your skin, but I wanted to keep the Mediterranean vibe going since she was Greek, and so am I (half Greek, half Black). And if you know anything about Greeks it’s that we love goats; goat’s milk, goat’s cheese, all that. Cow’s milk is very common and quite cheap so I could’ve used cow milk but- nothing about me is common or cheap, you know? So goat’s milk it is.
My name is Jess, but a lot of people know me by Cleo. I have always loved taking baths since I was a child and I never really grew out of it. I was drawn to plants/herbs since I was a kid, and more learning about energy as I entered high school. I just knew that being near or in water did something to me. It was a break from reality. I read my books in the bath, and wrote poems there, too. Many times I’d drain the tub because it got too cold from sitting in there so long, only to fill it back up with hot water again. I started creating baths like potions; throwing in lavender and whatever else I could get my hands on-soaking was my happy place. As I got older I gave it more of a cosmetic touch, I made it better for my skin rather than it just being a bunch of leaves and petals. After doing this so long without thinking, I realized many people would compliment me on my skin, saying that it was very soft and smooth. So, I finally decided to make something that other people can enjoy as much as I have all these years, and now we have: Cleo Milk Baths. Thank you all for your support and hope you enjoy! :)
