Ingredients & Why I Use Them
A Cleo Milk Bath isn’t just some lavish, over-the-top item, and this isn’t your usual milk bath. There are ingredients I have put in each collection that are useful in both physical and spiritual ways.
Firstly, milk contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, which penetrates the epidermis (top layer of skin) and dissolves the proteins that hold together dead skin cells. The Milk helps slough off these dead skin cells that make your skin look dull and feel dry.
Milk is a soft but effective way to exfoliate your skin.
Exfoliation is important to do all over body -not just your face- to improve circulation, stimulate skin, and help rejuvenate the healthy skin cells. Bathing in milk also helps soften fine lines and wrinkles, and helps improve your skin’s complexion.
The Cleo Milk Bath base includes: 100% all natural goat’s milk, pink Himalayan salt, baking soda, essential oils, and different dried herbs or fruits. Some also contain coconut milk.
The Himalayan pink salt is there to help relieve sore muscles, reduce fatigue, reduce stress, and ease pain. It is also supposed to help treat acne, eczema, psoriasis and soothe insect bites.
The baking soda, essential oils, and herbs have always been apart of my bath regimen because they help to detoxify and spiritually cleanse. Sometimes you just need to give yourself an emotional and spiritual bath. When you’re around people often, whether they physically touch you or not, their residual energy can linger around you. Mean thoughts, envious energy, and jealousy should not hang around you all day. If you notice your mood changes when you’re around a certain person: you feel unmotivated, insecure, or tired during/afterwards… it’s a good sign that you need some time by yourself to regenerate. Mediate, spend time outdoors, or in water. For those of us who don’t live by an ocean, or prefer a private space to find peace- I have put the pink Himalayan salt in these baths to give the euphoric feeling of the ocean. Salt water does wonders for the spirit. The baking soda helps to detox the body and get rid of negative energy. The essential oils can do many things; reduce stress, promote sleep, elevate your mood, etc.
How to Use Your Bath:
Be mindful. This is not some meaningless bath. It will soothe your skin but you need to nourish your soul as well. While running your water, pour Cleo Milk Bath in (as much as you want). Each package should last at least 2-4 baths. Now what do you want? Set positive intentions and manifest goals in your bath. Speak them out loud as you pour the ingredients in the water. Even if you don’t have a set goal, what feelings do you want to have? I like to call it ‘charging your bath’. You can add your crystals too, if you have any, to amplify what energy you’re going for. Want a money blessing? Add citrine. Attracting love? Rose quartz. Need some stability? Amethyst. When you step in, imagine all those energies soaking into you. Soak in Love, Light, Happiness, Success, Positivity, Prosperity. Whatever words you’d like to use… That bath is now blessed by you, and you are the sponge.
After your bath, before you drain the water! Get the larger herbs/fruits out so they won’t clog your drain. Be green! Return them to the earth (throw them outside), or compost them! Now, as you drain your tub, envision the water carrying your anxiety, doubt, fear, and any other negative thoughts/feelings flowing down the drain and gone. You are free from that negative energy, it flowed out and away-down the drain.
Let this time be not only a treat for your skin, but an experience of healing, of coming back to yourself, of becoming a better you. Treat yourself with a necessary luxury, you deserve it.
